I think that nids should be granted more warp charge on their main psykers or at least give one more to the hive tyrant. I'm not saying give it to something that can't have it like warriors more as something that makes sense to have e.g Zoanthropes Tyrants and the DoM, I mean it destroyed and ate one of the most psychic races in the universe, you'd at least think it would be synapse. Now I think you'll probably say nids are already too much of a psychic choir but if you've seen what losing a tervigon and flyrant does to your nid army you'd know how easily it collapses and how hard it is to recover. Working together is what nids do as well as most other armies but an extra warp charge does make a difference. I'm trying to say this like not make tyranids the op race but make something like variable army lists

To be honest, even limiting the extra warp charge to a single Tyrant and 1-2 Tervigons (at a point bump) would be really strong.
An Iron Armed Warp Speed Tyrant would be insane.

It would be strong, but come at a price. It would also be very very worth it... I'd pay 25 points instead of 15 for an extra power/ML with no complaints.

All the chaos Daemon Princes and psyker characters are getting it. Why aren't we?
I'd say +25pts for Level 2 hive tyrant or tervigon psyker. However, they don't get any additional powers, only the ones they already have.
BTW, daemons have just out-psyched our tyranids.

Daemons and their Lvl 3 daemon princes can easily do that.
And to top it off, they can get 4+ FNP and re-roll Inv's!

If i am not mistaken, with 2 warp charges, can you use 2 powers that cost 1?
So a Lvl 2 Zoan with their tyranid powers can shoot a Lance and a blast in the same round?

2 powers, but only one witchfire (Shooting) power unless you can allready shoot 2 gun's, like a monstrous creature.

As a quality of life update to keep Tyranids as the Hive Mind, I would say yes. Other races can pretty easily out psyker Nids right now, while psychic powers are supposed to be one of the best things about the army.

Dont forget "Shadow in the warp" all synapse tyranids get.
What is that you say? well you do your psychic tests at 3d6, and add all of them. ( enemy psykers within the range of the synapse that is, not your own units )

I also agree that the Nids should have the ability to get more mastery levels, but something like this would never be FAQ'd, and unfortunately the 'Dex was written before Mastery Level was a mechanic. The 2 things that I think are just goofy are that the Doom is not a Synapse Creature and the Swarmlord get 18" of Synapse, but his Shadow is not extended; not to mention the Swarmlord is a "Psychic Monstrosity", but in reality is a mediocre Psyker....

I'm sure that in the next dex Tyrants and Tervigons will be Mastery level 1, and could upgrade to 2 or 3, while the Swarmy will be base 3. And I very much agree with you on the Swarmies Shadow!
