Why can't IG take lightning claws? From a tactical perspective, there's really no reason, but I was wondering if there's a background reason.

I'm guessing the fluff reason it that their to valuable to give to the meat shields. Even in regiments that arent commanded by insane people the Guard just takes to high off casualties for that kind of equipment.

Generals like Sturnn, Alexander and Stubbs use standard issue Lightning claws. not the holy relics like Marines or Inquisitors, but more basic designs.

See that makes sense, I figured there would be a more streamlined version around. I mean comon they already have powerfists you just need to attach the spikey bits
