Hello fellow dakka-ites.

I was wondering if anyone has experience when it comes to priming white over models that were already primed black? I'm currently working on some death guard CSM squads and recently acquired white primer. I wanted to re-prime them white as I like the brighter green I can achieve from it. They're already primed black and I was worried I'll end up with some ruddy grey. Has anyone else done this before? Should I strip them first?

Thanks in advance.

The point of primer is to have good coverage over the original surface, and to add a good surface for paint to stick to.

Yes, you COULD prime over the black with little to no issue, but you could start dancing with the issue of clogging up your miniatures details.

I would strip it down, just to ensure you avoid that issue. Go to your local grocery store and grab some Simple Green and soak em for a couple days, then scrub with an old toothbrush. Repeat until no longer necessary.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
