Hey so I'm moving on from Captain Caine and Major Haley and I was looking at the different support casters Cygnar has to offer, and settled on Commander Stryker. So I'm going to start out at 25 points, since I have some more models than when I first started, and thought of something like this

Arcane Tempest Gun Mages w UA
Journeyman Warcaster
Defender
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord

The reasoning behind these choices is that the centurion can lay down a bit of hurt, but mostly because I don't own Rowdy and it is the only melee jack I own. The gun mages will really benefit from stryker, he can upkeep snipe on them allowing them to thunderbolt/crit brutal at 14". Junior can AS his jack, and stryker can AS his (or they can both AS the centurion making it ARM 27. Ain't nothing hurting that). Rhupert will help the Gun Mages with tough (for when blast damage gets through) or +1 def (when I'm up against widowmakers and stuff).

And yeah. I could put a squire in instead of Rhupert, which would increase the range of stryker's feat amongst other things, so I'll be playing around with both.

I actually just picked up eCaine myself. I was using pStryker before I got eHaley and now I plan on mixing in Caine. Anywho...

The centurion does have the ability to lay down some hurt the problem with not using Rowdy' is focus efficiency Stryker likes his focus for his upkeeps and for EQ. Also Jr. and Stryker cannot both cast Arcane Shield on the centurion. A model and unit can only have 1 upkeep spell on them at any given time and spells of the same name cannot stack. Even still the Centurion is not easy to move with Arcane Shield on him. If a Rowdy' purchase is not possible then the centurion is probably your best bet for a melee heavy.

Remember pStryker has blur. That makes the ATGM DEF 18 against ranged attacks.

With the extra points from dropping Jr. and Rhupert you could add Sword Knights to run with the Centurion. Flank Attacks with a model with reach is what they need to really shine and with Arcane Shield on them your looking at AS 19. The Cent. is base ARM 21 so that is going to be hard to hurt as it is send them after an enemy heavy and your good to go.

And with your last point you can add a Stormsmith just to harass jacks with disruption.

Just my opinion based on what I see.

Are you using the Steam Roller pack of scenarios? Nothing changes the game more than this.

We use them quite often yeah, not every game but the vast majority.

Your list looks good as do the suggestions.

Though, I would really recomend getting Rowdy asap. He's much faster and versatile than a Centurion.
