if by "basic" you mean "bland and easily dispatched", then yes, you've hit the nail on the head there.

if, however, you want a unit that will actually be useful, AND resilient, might I suggest giving your Lord some equipment, and perhaps promoting your Cryptek to a Harbinger of some variety.
additionally, either increasing the Warriors to 15-20 or swapping them out for Immortals wouldn't be a bad idea.
the inclusion of a transport would be a great investment as well, what with Necrons having some of the best transports in the game available.

so yes, you can on one hand have a very cheap squad that will easily be obliterated, or invest a decent amount of points to make them into something useful.

There's nothing wrong with warrior spam, but that's not enough warriors to do anything.
