I had a game today and a colossal performed a two-handed throw on one of my jacks. The jack was thrown on my warcaster, who in turn suffered collateral damage. For collateral damage, the MII Prime states in page 53:
"A model suffering collateral damage suffers a damage roll with a POW equal to the attacker's current strength."
My question is, does he roll 2d6 and adds his strength to determine damage (the way my opponent understands it) or does he skips rolling the dice because the roll will become the value printed on the attacker's card (as I understand it)?
If I understand it correctly this would be the same as with the Brute Thrall's Heavy Steamfists where the damage roll is not your normal roll but a special condition:
"Heavy Steamfists : Combo Strike(*) - Make a melee attack. Instead of a normal dmage roll, the POW of the damage roll is equal to this model's STR plus twice the POW of this weapon."
So the damage roll for that attack would always be 19 ( 9STR + 2*(5POW).
Any help on settling this issue is greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance.
