Last Thursday i played a 1000pts
40k 6th edition together with Miquelsan.
He was proxying his Warzone/infinity as Eldar and i was "proxying" my Hello Kitty
marines as Space Marines
Rough army list
I had an captain
1 A 10 (or 9?) man tactical squad
2 A 5 man tactical squad
3 A 5 man jump pack assault team
4 A 6 man assault team with drop pod
5 A predator (with lascannons)
6 A dreadnaught (with assault cannon)
Eldar
A A warlock leader
B With 4 a 5 Wraithguard
C Around 5 scout eldar
D A swooping hawk squad
E A warp spiders squad
F A Pathfinder squad
G A flyer
This is not really a battle report but just a small synopsis of the battle.
We rolled the Scenario and it was an objective battle
We put down scenery one at a time, chose a side and rolled for initiative.
I lost initiative, which was not a big deal as getting the enemy closer was not an issue!
Although i was worried about the flyer, and i have experienced the nastiness of warpspiders.
Miguelsan chose the saide which had 2 objective in them, i chose the side with the objective in my deployment zone.
My plan was to keep on objective from the beginning to end and try to keep Miguelsan from getting the other2 near his
deployment zone, luckily as always i am very good at making my save, so i survived a lot of fire (also Miguelsan
threw some bad rolls when using his most nasty weapons)
His warpspiders killed most of my second tactical squad, My main tactical squad with Captain had only a few
casualities, my jumppack squad killed his scouts and killed themselves on the Warlock and his Wraithguard (with
initiative 4???) My droppod landed spot on near Miguels Pathfinder squad near one of the objectives. My assault
marines killed most of the pathfinders with my flamer and only 2 (i think) where killed by return fire.
I think i killed his warlock but i am not sure (or by what)
In was getting late, Miquelsan finished his turn trying to dislodge my marines, but i only lost a few marines and my
tank by only 3 glancing hits? (tanks have hit poinst now?)
According Miguelsan, i won the game (he knew more about the Victory points system) i think i won because the flyer
didn't do much damage, if he had succeeded most of his flyer shooting rolls my army would have been swiss cheese. My
shooting at the flyer was totally ineffective (hit only on 6+
WTF!), also i was really contesting his ability to gain
the other objectives, Miguelsan must tell himself what his plan was (it was not clear to me

)
Conclusion;
Although it was only one battle, i don't like 6th Edition! To many random roles! We wavered some of order of rules
because they were illogical, Drop pods have a
BS of 4 really? Machine spirit was only 2 i think.
But what irks me the most is that Flyers are (at least somewhat) overpowered ( i got lucky this battle) but i didn't
have anything that could harm the flyer (yes my tank dreadnought and
HB in the tactical didn't do any thing thanks
to the 6+ shooting restriction). So i have to put in a flyer to combat an opponents flyer. (at least some weapons
shoulds have an advantage shooting at flyers, anything with a high fire rate should have a higer chance to hit a
flyer).
But what really won the battle was off course was Hello Kitty Cuteness!
Set up
As much in cover as possible!
Flyer making it's attack run, My Jumppack marines just killed the Eldar Scouts
