Good evening dakkadakka

I'm half way through building my tank company in preparation for Campaign at Milton Keynes in May.
First up are a company of T-70s

I hope you like them

I've done a detailed explanation of how I painted them on our blog if you are interested. You're probably familiar with Reaver83 posting links up, so I thought I'd get in on the action.

Take it easy

That looks better than many 28mm scale tanks I've seen...

good job!

Very nice, I really like the textured base. Is that MDF?

Yes, I got it from comission Figurines. I put a thread on about it a few posts down.

Thanks guys.

After the T-70s, I hit up my company of Matildas.

These weren't as much fun to paint as the T-70s, but all in all not a bad tank and the stats in mid-war are looking quite tasty. Can't wait to try them out.

Another company finished, this time the Heavy KV1s. What a great tank to paint, I want more and next time I'll do them camo style.

Nice. Are the Matilda and KV-1 Zvezda models?

Yeah me too, though I must admit I find their trucks to be rather fiddly, their tanks are excellent. I like the way you have converted the KV-1 to have a commander using what I assume is just a left over battlefront model. How exactly did you convert the open hatch?

One of the guys I play has a draw full of bits, he gave me a shed load of tank drivers and hatches and barrels and lots of odds and sods.

Handy to know someone like that.

I think that particular hatch is a T34 hatch and if you were to look closely from a different angle, you'd see it is too small, but heck I just have to get this army painted in time for Campaign.

Good morning all,

Finally got round to taking some photos of the BA10s, these are Zvezda models and would never buy them again. Shame as I really like Zvezda stuff in general.

This has basically been my experience of Zvezda as well. For tanks they are brilliant, but their armored cars and softskins are nightmarishly fiddly.

They don’t even represent that much of saving over their resin equivalents.

I'm tempted to get a handful of BF ones, then I can contribute to the PSC v Battlefront thread, as that has potential to be really useful.
