I use thread sealing tape on my stuff, and it does the job just fine. 2-3 winds around and it's good.

ok so the sealing tape will easily hold the pressure from the canned air

not sure what kind of PSI your canned air has and can't be bothered to do the research, but I'm using a compressor that can do up at near 200PSI tuned to pumping out 40 PSI, and I'm not experiencing any leaks with my brush. That said, I think I see your problem now, that you are using canned air. Pressure loss is kind of a big deal there. I'd like to encourage you to obtain an air compressor at your earliest opportunity.

Instead of cans of air, If a compressor is way out of budget (as theyre obviously the thing for the job) look for something like a car tire that you can have refilled
Will save you lots in replacement cans. PTFE seal tape is a must have item for any airbrushing set up, you said you got some now, so any leaky joins can be sorted out in the future

Edit; cans are going to add up quickly. For ease of maths lets say they're £5 a can, 20cans = a brand new small compressor with a tank that would last many times as long as the cans.
