I've hunted everywhere and it seems UHU glue isn't available in the US, or at least not locally. Can anyone recommend an alternative? I'm intending to do the gore effect, and I've seen E6000 (or is it E6600) mentioned as suitable and that is easily available. If anyone can comment on its use or that of another I'd be grateful!

Yeah it is a pain to get a hold of but I found some for a reasonable price on ebay but it shipped from the UK.

The only alternate to a stringy type gore that I like the look of would be getting some PVA glue and then put a drop of super glue on and then with a toothpick just pull the super glue around until it creates a stringy gore type shape.

Here is a tutorial I used that helped me out ( from fantasygames painting studio).

Surely there's got to be an equivalent product available domestically.

Your description made me think that method was going to be more trouble than it's worth but not at all. This will be for my TWC and such, but I think this might work. Thanks for posting that.

Go to you local hardware store, go to the adhesives and look for a tube of "all purpose adhesive" it will all be pretty much the same stuff inside the tubes, i have a tube of generic from a store here in the uk works just like UHU glue.

That's what I was thinking. It's worded the same, should at least be similar. Thanks for the advice.

I've only seen a handful of UHU products, stateside, but they do exist. Not sure what/who is in your area, but if you can find any convenience/discount stores (dollar stores, bodegas, etc.) owned by or primarily servicing immigrant populations you may have better luck.

I have some UHU poster tack (hadn't heard of the gore technique at the time, so I passed on the glue, sadly) that I grabbed at a dollar store in the predominantly Mexican area of downtown New Brunswick. Lots of the various convenience stores carried similar foreign equivalents to products that we only ever see from the usual domestic brands. In this case, you're specifically looking for stores that will likely sell cheap no-name (to Americans, at least) stuff.

The Dreadnote wrote:But the Emperor already has a shrine, in the form of your local Games Workshop. You honour him by sacrificing your money to the plastic effigies of his warriors. In time, your devotion will be rewarded with the gift of having even more effigies to worship.

That may be an option. I have seen their glue sticks and such. From what I can find online, UHU does have products here, but only a few. Evidently they use many solvent based adhesives that haven't been approved here. I don't know how much of those have made it in by nowl, I don't believe the info was particularly recent.

I'll take a look at some dollar stores and see what I can find.

Check Amazon... I intend on using the same technique; thus, Amazon is my answer to the same question. GirlPainting also has a tutorial video highlighting this UHU application.

I haven't seen the E6000 application. You can buy that on Amazon as well.
