Does anyone know if a vehicle unit has to deep-strike in order to be on top of a landing pad? I have a silly idea, and need to see if it is legit.

Page 115 of the BRB tells you how to move onto or off of the landing pad =) I see nothing that would prevent a non-skimming/flying/deep-striking vehicle from moving onto it.

If your asking if a vehicle cannot get onto a sky shield without deep striking then i would say no, as IIRC the sky shield is open terrain from the last faq. so just a difficult terrain test to see if you can magically climb up a building.

Awesome. My brain was going off the wonders of having Doomsday Arks parked on a landing pad with a 3+ invul save, good LOS, and a pain in the ass to assault

It should be 4+ invul, unless I'm missing something. Just so you know though, a lot of people refuse to play against Skyshield Landing Pads because the rules for them are totally broken/unclear. Be sure to clarify them with your opponent before every game.
