Just realised that I had posted this on the wrong sub-forum (still new to this forum, so please excuse my error):

Now this is my first Sci-Fi unit painted in over a decade... three teams of Tau Firewarriors for 40K:

Here are a few preview pictures (more clickable pictures on the blog):

Decided to play Tau last year before GW even anounced the new release, but only got around to paintingmthe first minis last weekend.

Enjoy,

Burkhard

looks like a good start, can't say I'm a fan of the "fiery" fire warriors, but these look good.

Nice to see pulse carbines getting some love.

keep it up.

Thanks!

From what I read on some blogs (I have not gotten the new codex yet and will proably not before the end of the month since I did not order directly from GW), it looks like the carbines might get more love now! ;-)

I really like your standard color scheme. It's got that solid color look I like in the Tau, with a smooth finish that helps give that sleek, futuristic impression the army thrives on. I think that your flames are spectacularly painted, but that at the same time are an ambitious mis-step on Tau. Unfortunately, I think that they do not work well with the army's look. (Although, as I said, they are phenomenally painted. ) Nevertheless, whether or not you are happy with them is the most important part. Good luck, and I hope you're very happy with your army!

Very cool. Clean and precise. I think the only thing I would like to see is a bit more highlighting on the main green, and maybe just a few rocks or other doodads on the bases to break em up.

Thank you guys!

@ Jim: so far I am happy. I agree that they create a break from the rest. But if I do not like them once the whole thing is done, I can always go and paint them over!

@Evolvingeye: no worries... The larger bases will receive more scenic effects in them.
