Hi,
I've just seen this air compressor by Testors on Ebay UK. It is clear blue in look and is very very cheap. I was just wondering if any one has any experience of using it and what were your thoughts?

Thats the most common kind of compressor used for airbrushing, for less than ten dollars difference you get a tank and a better range of pressure available. Shop around, you might find a good deal

If you're not scared of a little noise then you can pick up a non airbrush compressor for less money. They typically have larger tanks and more powerful motors as well as being cheaper. The drawback being of course that they are much louder as they're designed more so for outdoor use.

I can't advise you where to get one in the UK but here in the states they're in every home improvement store and the ubiquitous Walmart starting at about $50.

Edit:
Quick Google-Fu found this:

That's the kind of compressor I'm talking about. I use one similar and haven't had any problems though I just got into airbrushing myself. It's also handy as it can run a variety of air tools for projects around the house.

Check out California air tools. They have super quiet air compressors that run at 56 decibles. I live in an apartment and my neighbors have no idea I run it. My room mates don't even know when I turn it on unless I leave the door open to my room. So far over 100 hours worked with it and no heat problems or rattling. The only problem is if you use badger air brushes you have to go to the hardware store and get the right size fittings ( adds ten us dollars to your cost)
