so after a while of looking around and checking out some of the other blogs on here, i thought i'd start one about my 4th company ultramarine that i am currently building, now i'll happliy admit that i'm not the best painter/modeler in the world and i have plenty of bits to improve on my painting so hopefully as this blog progresses i hope to see some improvements in my painting skills.
I decided to do a 4th company army after i borrowed the first ultramarine's omnibus from a friend and it got me hooked so i have been messing around trying to make a model of Uriel Ventris and this is where i have got so far.





still not 100% finished as there a few bits that need touching up.

I'll hopefully try and update this once a week

I also have a couple of other characters from the book that i am working on they include:

i will hopefully get some pictures up of them over the weekend as well as the storm talon that i am working on, the plan for the army build is to do the whole battle company for the 4th so i have a long way to get yet and have also been thinking about getting some imperial guard as allies and using them as the Ultramar Auxilia

Awesome Uriel man, he's one of my favorite characters from Black Library. I can't wait to see you Chaplain Clausel, will he be leading an assault squad?

thanks for the kind comments and yes Clausel will be leading my assault squad, well when i get round to making them lol.

one thing that i plan to work on today is the power swords as i'm not happy with how they look I've done a couple of test models trying to add some effects to the blade but not came up with anything that looks overly good at the moment, so some more playing around is required but once i find something that i think looks good i'll repaint both Uriel's and Pasanius's power swords.

As well as that i have brought a scout squad to work on along with the storm talon build that is still ongoing so plenty to do

well its been a while since I've put and thing on here mainly due to starting a new job how ever i have managed to get around to building my first rhino, still need to do the transfers on it





currently I'm working on the finishing touches to a storm talon as well as the AOBR dreadnought

Some nice smurfs there bizzyd, the first pic of Uriel Ventris is nice. I dont recognise the head. Where's it from?

The blade on the rhino looks great too. Imo, you've hit the nail on the head when it comes to the fine line between too much and too little weathering.

Overall, nice, but i reckon with a nice edge highlight on the blue and the green it'd look even better

i really need to finish off the storm talon and get around to working on my scouts and tactical squad

right so got side tracked with working on the tactical squads instead i decided to have a go at making a vindicator







pretty happy with how this turned out, i tried to not go to over the top with the weathering and i think i just about got the right balance between it being too clean/too dirty.

As i have already made Ventris and Pasanius i thought i'd have a go at making the 4th companys command squad "the swords of Calth" from the chapters due novel and the first one i had a go at was Petronius Nero.



he's still a work in progress but quite pleased with how he's coming alone once i finish him i think i'll start on Apothecary Selenus, so until next time.

hey guys and girls

after looking around on here and playing a few games i have decided that i think it would be cool to take a detachment of imperial guard as allies, i will use them as the Ultramar Auxilia, currently trying to work out a good colour scheme for them tempted to just paint there Armour Blue instead of the usual green, i will probably only get about 500 points of guard and mainly troops thou i think a Valkyrie would look good in ultramarine colours, i hope to get a couple of pics up of the test colour scheme soon.

so i finally started work on some infantry thou it again wasn't the tactical squad, i have been thinking that i'd want to run some sternguard in my list and i had a look at the GW finecast ones and wasn't one over by them so i decided to make my own from GW/FW odds and sods i had laying around on the work bench, i tried to mix and match the armour marks as i'd like to think that the veterans got some of the chapters older relic armour so at the moment i currently have 4 marines down here is a few work in progress shots of how far i've got so far.









still have to finish painting them and adding the weapons still trying to find a couple of combi melta's im sure i had some around here somewhere.

well doesn't the time fly been almost a month since i did an update well here we go, i have finished of the swords of calth command squad and am pretty happy with the results, thou after i posted the pic of Petronius Nero i decided that i wasn't overly happy with the look of the model so i decided to go back to the drawing board and redo him below are the results.
