Maybe it's just my imagination, but I feel like I remember reading somewhere that a passenger on a transport could assist or something in firing the weapons on a vehicle, using the ballistic skill of the embarked unit instead of the vehicle. Am I imagining this, and if not, can anyone cite the book/page it came from?

Also, if an IC joins a unit that has an artillery gun or weapon platform(such as eldar support weapons, or eldar weapon platforms), can said IC fire the weapon with their own ballistic skill?

There is NO SUCH THING as MORE ADVANCED in 40k!!! There are ONLY 2 LEVELS of RULES: Basic and Advanced. THE END. Stop saying "More Advanced". That is not a recognized thing in modern 40k!!!!

I certainly cannot remember anywhere stating that about passengers, but am willing to proven wrong if there is one.

As for the Artillery, as per page 46, mentions IC's in the first sentance ("The Unit" - under the statline towards the end of the paragraph) as being unable to fire the guns.

Nope, no such rule. There have been certain vehicle upgrades that were used by passengers (bolt on big shootas, for example), but not as a standard vehicle rule.

That might be what made me think of it. I did do a thorough reading of the orc dex awhile back.

Chimeras don't have lasguns.

There have been a very few vehicles that have had guns only fired by the passangers, but they are mostly Appoc or Forge World.

The Stubbers on a Stormlord can only be fired by the passangers.

Centaurs have the option to mount a heavy weapon the passangers are carrying and fire it as if it was armed with it while the unit is embarked.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

This rule does sound slightly familiar, RT or 2ed maybe, nothing recent.

The squiggoth has weapons that can only be fired if there are models embarked on it

Chimeras have hull (side) mounted lasguns I believe are fired by the passengers (at least in a previous edition)

Chimeras' lasguns only exist in the fluff now. Ruleswise the vehicle just has a number of fire ports.

Ohhhh. I only remember because when first starting in 4th with my nids, my Nidzilla failed to blow up a chimera and was in return wounded 1 time and I failed the save, killing the fex. Ward must've wrote that script
