Ok so I've been playing with my 1850 MTO CSM list to try and get it down to 1500 points. What I ended up with looks almost cheesy. Here is the list.

This list seems like it would completely overwhelm what most lists at 1500 points could throw at it. it has 6 pretty decent threats hitting the opponents line turn 2 with heldrakes ready to mop up anything not engaged or survives the initial assault. the troops are weak but you reserve them and have them run to objectives and go to ground as appropriate, It can handle most fliers through vector strikes and is not too vunerable to helldrakes with more armour and a likelyhood of being locked in combat (the cultists will just have to hide). Seems like a rediculous amount of killing power in a 1500 list. What does Dakka think Competative? Cheesy?

chaos lord cannot go in mon squad unless it has mon also its cheaper if you just give it a melta bomb insted of power fist

Why cultists any army at 1500 will bring either enough pie plates and small arms fire to ravage your 40 cultists. i would think for at least 2 squads of regular marines would be much better.

What is mace of absolution? The black mace?

Also why the PF LC combination on a MOK lord? Surely Axe of blinding fury is a much better option, for sheer weight of strength 6 ap 2 attacks.

If you have been winning with 4 squads of 10 cultists then I must congradulate you!

Keep the cultist. I think people under estimate them, but I have not tried them or encountered them. to waste a shooting or assault phase on a 50pt squad is how the cultist makes its money back.
