I actually like the parasite in the few games I've gotten to play him. Versus a swarm or mobile troop force he does very well at tarpitting. The problem I run into however is the flier threat, though if your store doesn't have this meta then I think it's perfectly acceptable to avoid Flyrants in favor.
The only change I would recommend is picking up toxin on your Trygons. They're too expensive not to have rerolls on whatever they're up against. I'd pick it up from the toxin on the gargoyles as I see them as front line fodder despite it being a good choice for them.
Also I enjoy carnifex with devourers, but a group of three seems too cocentrated of fire. I don't have an off hand fix for this seeing as how you'd want a double FOC, so I have no suggestion but an observation. Automatically Appended Next Post: Actually now that I've considered it a bit more, I would suggest:
Drop a single Carnifex, drop Adrenal Glands from the Tervigons.
Add a Doom of Malan'tai in a Mycetic Spore, add a stock Warrior Prime (alter Gargoyle brood size if you desire LW/BS), then utilize a double FOC to separate your two remaining Carnifex.
This increases your horde control, increases Synapse, adds extra melee punch wherever you place the Prime (should be Warlord), you lose some shooting but you gain the ability to focus your remaining fire in alternate positions. This prevents Devourer over-kill, and the ability of your opponent to stay away from it by covering more ground.
