I have a question on the inquisitor warband: using Karamazov, is it legal to take up to 12 hencemens and use them divided on the battlegroud?

I.e. take 2 servitors with servoarm, 2 jokaero, 3 inq. Accolyte and 5 arcoflagellants, using the 2 servitors tied to Karamazov as inq bodyguard and spread out the 2 jokaeros + accolyte as firing squad and 5 arcoflagellants as a close combat melee Squad?

Each warband you buy is a unit and must stick together. That would be very cheesy if you could as people would get Coteaz and 6 squads of 12 psykers and have 72 Str3 Ap6 large blasts shooting a turn not to mention having 72 scoring units. Or servitors with multi-meltas etc. etc.

But the pony is 300 feet tall and covered in CHAINSAWS!

Sure, but i'm using Karamazov and not Coteaz, so not more than 12 henchmens are allowed. Perhaps the rules are not really fitted and balanced for the different inquisitors. Ie allow to use henchmens as Elite choice would make Karamazov and Valeria little more interesting to play.

I'm not seeing the problem here.

I need to return some video tapes.

Haha I wish too The only difference between Coteaz and Karamazov is that Warbands are in the troop slot for Coteaz. Whatever HQ you take each warband must stay together and cannot be split up.

Ex: Space Marines have the "combat squads" rule and can split up into two groups.

Ex: My Imperial Guard infantry squads have the "Combined Squads" rule which lets me add up to five of them together.

This doesn't stop you from just buying those 2 servitors for bodyguard (Elite slot1) and the 2 jokareo and warriors (Elite slot 2) then having the arcoflangs (Elite slot 3) I just figured you were trying to get all of that out of one Elite slot.

edit-
To answer your question, no it is not legal.

In other words: i'm not allowed to split my warband in more units, but if i've free elite slot i could use those to divide the warband?

Correct but Divide is the wrong word to use (can get confusing on what actually is happening)

You can buy multiple separate henchmen squads for each elite slot. However, if you want to do a hechmen army get Coteaz regardless b/c for 100 points he is a steal and makes the army so much more usable.

you are only allowed ONE unit of henchmen, picked as an elite choice, per inquisitor taken

so if you only take one inquisitor (karamasov) then you only get one unit of 3-12 henchmen (minimum 3 in the unit, max 12)
chosen as an elites slot on the FOC

Generally MSU begins to break the game fast. I took 6 troop choices in a 1000 point doubles tourney with corsairs and no one could deal with them. With G2g or turbo boosting bikes around the saves were good enough that they couldnt wipe units without excessive force. Only lost the last round because of some stupidly lucky save rolls and an ally who got nearly tabled turn 1 due to some bad decisions on his part. Almost went 2v1 and won however because he couldnt deal with that many units.

Ah yes I forgot only one unit of henchmen per inquisitor unless it is Coteaz. Good catch easysauce. Looks like you're stuck with just one unit unless you take Coteaz.

edit:
Yes I would feel like a WAAC player if I did MSU. Like 3 warriors with plasma or melta with one psyker for a cheap blast in a chimera = 100ish pts IIRC Im more of a fluffy player myself.

I love it how the flamer, melta and plasma gun all cost the same for them.
