Hi Folks,

I'm going to a local club tournament and thought I'd give IG a try. I've only played a couple of games with them so I'm still trying to work out what a good tournament list would look like at 1K. The tournament is tomorrow so no rush or anything

In both lists the PCS ride in the vendettas until the last minute and flame whatever is standing on an objective. I'm trying to do some poor man's blast templates with the moo and the Marlboro man. The Marlboro man could also be used to get line breaker if there's no clear target when he arrives.

So, are these lists trash for a newbie IG player? Suggestions appreciated!

Seems fairly solid, hard to tweak them much and keep them the same.

Heavy flamers are too expensive for guard in general. Just grab 4xflamer on the PCS. Much simpler and cheaper.

MoO is unreliable. Full scatter always means he won't hit the target most of the time. Only useful against massed enemies. Not for me, as I think the points can be better used elsewhere.

To change the autocannon into lascannon. The points from the HF's and the MoO gives you the room to do this, and makes those weapons far more powerful.

Vendettas, Marbo and the colossus are all great.

I prefer the list with the colossus, as at 1000pts 3 vendettas is a bit much, and 2 should do you fine. The colossus is also a great unit, and with the aegis and camo should weather some firepower.

Seems solid but in my experience 20man blobs die very very quickly! I agree with the poster above on most things except the number of vendettas but that's just me
If I were to change the lists, I'd take the second one, swap one vendetta for a Valkyrie/vulture, and consider trying to add more men to those blobs!!! But otherwise a great pair of lists
Also the poster above has said some great stuff, I'd listen to him too!

Personally I would go for the second list, but keep the autocannons. With guardsmen's poor BS I always feel that lascannons are wasted on them. Your anti tank will be covered nicely with the 3 vendettas, all you are lacking is the anti infantry, and autocannons offer that nice midpoint between strength and rate of fire. Plus they are more versatile.
