Wondering Why the Emperor Left

United Kingdom

Sorcerer: Tzeentch, +1 Mastery Level, Sigil of Corruption, Boon of Chaos. 135 (Warlord)
Daemon Prince: Wings, Power Armour, Khorne, Boon of Chaos. 230

Helbrute: Plasma Cannon. 110

Thousand Sons: +5, Champion with Axe. 280
Thousand Sons: +4, Champion with Sword. 257 (with Sorcerer)

Predator: Twinlinked Lascannon. 100
Obliterator 70
Obliterator 70

1251

The Daemon Prince, Predator and obliterators all go tank/TEQ hunting turn 1, The Thousand Suns object camp and cover the mid-board with ap3 bolters with the Helbrute tying up any possible horde units. It's quite a ranged list with loads of ap2 and 3. The Aspiring champions will use the Tzeentch Primaris Power and the sorcerer rolling on Telepathy and Tzeentch.

Questions:
- Should I keep my Prince in reserve and vector strike or deploy and get into combat ASAP?
- Is it better to deploy the obliterators as 1 unit or individually?
- Who is a better Warlord? Should I use the codex chart?

I will agree with Filch on the Pred. The Oblits are best split up, due to crappy Ld. Most put MoN and VotLW on them so LCs don't Instant Death them and if they are in a unit, the Vets keep them from running. Since all you have is two, consider MoN and be done with it. Remember the Oblits can not fire the same weapon two turns in a row, so they are inconsistent long range AT in my opinion. They also have Plasma Cannons (not twin linked), so I think your Helbrute is kinda wasted.

No idea what your talking about with your 1k Sons and how your getting your point costs.

DPs, as expensive as they are, are probably best used in reserve and vector striking in. I feel they are just to expensive for what they give you, I would honestly consider dropping it. That combined with your Helbrute could be another squad of 1k Sons or Terminators. A Lord in Terminator armor is probably just as effective, IMO.

Your Sorc should have as many Mastery Levels as possible on him. I like the Sigil, you might want to consider Terminator armor as well.. 2+/3++ is nothing to sneeze at. Scrolls of Magnus can be a fun item to play with if you like a little random in your list. If you do the Terminator armor, take your mandatory roll on the Tzeentch list, then 2 rolls on Biomancy.

Lets see how this would look...

Lord - 172pts
Terminator armor, Combi-Melta, Chain Fist, Sigil of Corruption, MoT, VotLW

Sorc - 187pts
Terminator armor, Combi-melta, MoT, Sigil of Corruption, VotLW, +2 Mastery Level, Force Axe

4x Terminators - 208pts
MoT, Power Axes, Chain Fist (champ), 4x Combi-Plasma, VotLW, IoF

10x 1k Sons - 265pts

10x 1k Sons - 265pts

Oblit - 76pts
MoN

Oblit - 76pts
MoN

1249pts
