Wondering about including a character with Engineer skill in my army. Have you found it useful or are the points better elsewhere? How did you come to this conclusion?

It depends on the rest of the list, you should post it so people can help you in more detail.

Basically though, give them bots to do their bidding and only take them if you have remotes or TAGs that you want to look after. As I understand it most people running a TAG will also run an engineer and at least one bot. My Bakunin list has two remotes and a TAG, it also sports an engineer and 3 Zondbots.

In regular kill each other lists? No. In missions or tag list? Yes. In the campaign? Damn near every game.

I only take an engineer if i need to use Traktor muls (Ariadna) or if it is required by the mission. No point outside of those two things.

I'm thinking about running an ADHL Kaplan engineer simply because it would be a nuisance for the enemy to get rid of the glue.

If you know you are going to go up against glue guns (local meta has several players running 5 man link teams of at least 3 glue guns AND X-visors, so they are hitting on max -3 range mods and courtesy of the link, they have +3BS and Sixth sense lvl2) they can be very useful.
In Paradiso, in the majority of missions, they are required.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Haven't played any Paradiso missions, but some factions such as Aleph and Yu Jing have a very useful Doctor/Engineer. At least in my Aleph list, the Sophotect is a very strong choice for when I run multiple remotes and non-remotes.

In my MRRF list I usually run linked Loup Garou with two ADHLs so it is a pretty good idea for my opponent to take an engineer lol.

At work at the moment, can someone correct me if I'm wrong? Adhesive effectively takes the mini out of action if there are no engineers on the board?

That is essentially true, but there are some reasons to still leave the model on the table if they're not dead.

Discovery, Sensor, Sepistor, Explode, Strategos, Inspiring Leadership, Regeneration, Repeater, etc still all function.

Not to mention if they're your LT don't take them off the board until they're dead.

If a Regular model is glued it still provides its order to the order pool until it is dead or unconscious.

Correct, never removed a glued model. It's alive for all intents and purposes just immobilized. It still gives it's order, don't give up points for retreat, and can do a limited amount of things.
