Hey guys, new to post on Dakka. Was looking for some ideas on a new list for an upcoming match at a local GW against a Death Wing player. My current list is:

HQ: Typhus

Troops:
Plague Marines x10 w/ 2 meltas, VotLW, and GoM for Champion
Plague Zombies x 31

Elite:
Helbrute x1 w/ Reaper Autocannon and Power Scourge

Fast:
Warp Talons X8 w/ MoN, VotLW and GoM for Champion
Heldrake w/ Baleflamer

Heavy:
Obliterator X3 w/ MoN
Forgefiend x1 stock

and Aegis Defense Line with Quad Gun for shooting down fliers and bikes.

It's just a preliminary build and I am thinking about dropping Typhus and Plague Marines in Favor of Noise Marines just because the sonic weapons ignore cover but they are a lot more expensive with upgrades. Anyways I would appreciate any ideas from those who have fought Death Wing and Raven Wing before with success. Thanks

Bikes still get 3+ armor save so only blastmaster has the AP3. Get msu of just blast masters for killing bikes. Swap out RAC on your helbrute for plasma cannons for ap2 vs terminators.

Ya, I might have to do that. I just wonder if its worth losing the plague zombies and plague marines to get the noise marines. Noise marines are kinda terrible in CC from what I have seen. At least compared to Plague Marines with 4+ poisoned CC

If I have not bought noise then I would stick to plague. Where you trying to deepstrike typhus with the warp talons?

I'd reduce warp talon squad to minimum and shave points else where to get more plague squads.

Correction, zombies can not be upgraded so the mob of 20 is just 90pts.

40 points left over. I'd buy a rhino+dozerblade for the plasma gun squad.

Why take a RAC and a power scourge on the same Helbrute? Seems like you are trying to make a partly ranged, partly melee unit. I would specialize it one way or another. Go melee and run it through cover, or go ranged and camp it in the back and shoot.

Also, you are light on troop choices for this many points. I would drop the Helbrute altogether and get more troops, drop the warp talons they are the most expensive waste of points in our codex IMO, and use those points to get more troops. Plague marines are awesome troops, and you can take a lot of special weapons in small squads with them, so take a couple more groups if you can. Finally drop the forgefiend for a groups of havocs with autocannons, the champ can man the ADL gun and for 115pts you have the same number of autocannon shots and don't have to put another group back there, and you net 60 points to do other things with. Just my two cents, take it for what its worth.

Ok so after thinking about it and taking your guys advice I have revised my list to counter the speed in his bikes.

Daemon Prince w/ Axe of Blind Fury, Power armor and Wings

I plan on using the zombies to move up the flanks while my marines push the center with Oblits firing from the rear. and when I get to a turn that is close enough to boxing him in well enough or get enough of his units into CC I will Deep Strike talons into his flank along with bringing heldrake and DP in to take out his center. Sound good?
