Ok, so is the D3+1 only against vehicles? And if it is against a MC it's only one hit?

You are referring to Vector Strikes which is compeltely unrelated to the Baleflamer. And they can be made against anything the Heldrake flies over.

The rules for Vector Strike are found in the rules for flying monstrous creatures, which the Heldrake is allowed to use per its own special rule(and its made at Str7 as well)

I'm afraid I'm not, I am talking about Baleflamers, let me change the question how many hits does each model suffer from the baleflamer?

What do you mean?

Its just like any other flame template weapon. Read how template weapons work in the rulebook. It also has the Torrent special rule, also in the rulebook.

It does have the Soulblaze special rule, which is clearly discussed in the special rules section of the rulebook.

I know, I have, basically the guy I was playing against rolled either d3+1 or d3 hits. I had two models under the template. I assumed it was a kind of special rule for the gun and the guy is pretty solid on rules so I didn't doubt him.

If he was using the template, that's the baleflamer alright - but it works like any other template. Hits equal to the number of models under (or partially under) the template, so by your description it should've been just 2.
D3+1 is for Vector Strikes *ONLY* as it comes from that rule, so wouldn't use the baleflamer's Strength, AP etc.

Next time you're not sure on something, ask to see the Codex.

Not quite... Vector Strike is on page 43, it's its own special rule so it's not normally limited to FMCs. It DOES specify Swooping though, so for the time being at least it's only FMCs or Flyers.

Soulblaze also can cause D3+1 hits as detailed in the Soul Blaze special rule, but those arn't done when it shoots.

Ok, thanks a lot everyone. This information is extremely useful. I should have checked really, never mind. Thanks though.

Maybe he confused the Wall of Death rules for normal Template shooting rules?

I'm reaching for straws.

I'll say, would have to be a hell of a confusion - as a flyer the Heldrake can't be assaulted if Zooming, and as a vehicle it doesn't get to fire Overwatch anyway.

He said d3+1 or d3.
At least the latter has some basis for misunderstanding...

He is probably referring to the soul blaze effect as mentioned above, in which case it is only a D3 Str4 Ap5 hits for each unit that is set in flames.
