In the last codex I beleave it specifically said markerlights cannont from other marker lights can't see that in the new codex , so a possible m tactic would be to take a commander with drone controller and 2 markerlight drones so they fire at bs 5 then a squad of pathfinders can up thier bs to 5 and give off many markerlights.

You could just take marker drones on an HQ and have BS5 drones instead. They're tougher and faster than pathfinders.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

He's using a 2 step process to multiply the number of counters he gets. So HQ drones fire, 2 hits. Pathfinders use those 2 to up their BS to 5 and fire, netting 10 hits on average. You then use those 10 hits for other things to turn the target into a smoking crater. It's for when 2 counters just isn't enough.

Indeed any unit you mark with 10 lights will be very dead just thinking of good ways to fit markerlights in without tetra.

Actually, I got the numbers wrong as I thought Pathfinders were max 12 not 10. But still, a lot of hits.

Once you're taking the commander you're better off just taking a squad of marker drones and attaching the commander. You get the same BS 5 markerlights but without the chance of failure from one of the commander's drones rolling a 1, and you can move and shoot instead of being stuck in one spot all game.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Ah didn't read the drone controllers rules right I thought only the 2 drones you buy with the commander could be bs 5

Dont forget stuff like fireblades have split fire, so they can marker something out of range of your firewarriors for the pathfinders to light up

If you attach a squadron of marker drones to the commander, do they get BS5 because of the drone controller?

Quote from chromedog
and 40k was like McDonalds - you could get it anywhere - it wouldn't necessarily satisfy, but it was probably better than nothing.

As far as i can tell, yes, that will probably be a very popular combination in the future. Im already using the big pile of unfinished drones i have from playing tau and converting them into markers, im just glad i didnt go gung ho and made a bunch of missile pod drones.

Yup. that gives you a max of 14 bs5 marker drones. That will give way more markerlights than you really need on one target though.

yeah, but that would be one very dead target, and if you want to waste them, you can give yourself some ridiculous BS and get rerolls on misses

You COULD give a Stealth Team a Velocity Tracker and Markerlight on the leader... if it hits, you can then fire more Markerlights at a flyer hitting on 5+ Snap Shots.
Trouble is this is expensive, uses up an Elite slot, only helps for one flyer a turn and that initial Markerlight still only has a 50% chance to hit, that will ultimately end in using 3 separate units to take it down.
...but hey! It's POSSIBLE.
