What did you use for the mask? It looked like vinyl.

Yes, it was vinyl masking film. Very nice Hammerhead with digital camo. I'll make one in this style

Thanks. Where do you get your vinyl masking film? All the films I have tried are either too expensive or leave a sticky residue.

I've bought a big roll of it. 1 square meter costs about 40 USD. I can sell you a sheet A4 or more, if you wish

I work in the signage industry. what you want to look for is a vinyl that is low stick/ removeable adhesive. Some of the brands I can think of are magic stick, wall noodle, or any vinyl thats billed as removeable. 3M makes some but thats an expensive brand. Just avoid perminate adhesive, that will leave the sticky residue. look for 12" rolls for the most cost effective price for personal use.

Also a lot of places will let you buy it by the yard for cheap. www.hhsignsupply.com sells it at $.99 a yard USD, they also have paint mask vinyl that will probably be what you want at $1.29 a foot.

Those are probably much better suited for our needs then a Vinyl would be. Good find.

As for the tutorial its self, I loved it. I am thinking of repainting my tau and was wanting to know how to go about doing this kind of paint job.

Would 3M Brand Masking Film work?
