Hello Dakka Comunity.

I have only played a few games against flyers and had a few questions on how they worked exactly.

The first question is: I did not read anywhere in the BRB that flyers had the jink special rule other than if they Evade. (or hover to become a skimmer).
My friend has always made a jink save because well, I guess it just seemed to make sense.
However if it doesn't have jink unless it evades makes sense as well as most weapons already suffer a BS 1 against flyers.

My second Question is: When pivoting it says that flyers can pivot up to 90 degrees then fly straight.
Does this mean pivot 90 degrees from it's current position? (that would give it 180 degrees of play allowing it to pivot in squares never leaving the board.) Or does it mean 90 degrees total making it only being able to pivot 45 degrees in each direction?
From what I read I think it is the first one (90 in each direction), but the latter would make more sense as a flyer is zooming quickly and can not bank 90 on a turn.
This picture may help alleviate some confusion.

If some more experienced players could give that section a read or just let me know how it usually is played that would be a great benefit.
Thanks in advance !

Edit -- I do not have the Death from the Skies impendium or whatever it is called. So any help from that would be nice too

1) A zooming flyer only gets a jink save if it evades.
2) 90 degrees to each side. 180 degrees total.

Regarding the picture, ive always played my flyers like the second option. But now that i think about it, the first is also plausible, i guess i never considered it that way...looking forward to the answer

Its 90 degrees in any direction. So the option on the left.

Unlike weapon mounts which say they have a 45 degree arc(meaning the total is 45 degrees, so 22.5 in either direction) the Flyer can pivot up to 90 degrees before moving. That means from whereever it is pointing it can move its front up to 90 degrees.

And a Zooming Flyer only gets Jink if it Evades. Otherwise it only has whatever cover it can normally get, or an Invuln save if it has one.

Also remember if your friend jinks he fires snap shots with his flyer. Or to say follows the snap shop rules.
