I think in my ork army it would be fun to field him especially using his special ability to turn characters into squigs, opinions?

Right now, due to rather stupid FAQ rulings he's a bit useless, and a lot expensive... Hopefully they'll fix this eventually.

Since the extremely silly nature of the FAQ you could always FAQ the FAQ's in your gaming group.

Talk prior, if the opponent wont let you use his spells anyway despite the BS0 bullcrap then he is a WAAC and not worth playing. It is OBVIOUSLY an oversight on their end but because its an unpopular model and an old codex, they refuse to FAQ it saying "Autohitting ranged spells do not incurr the BS0 negative effects" or something of that nature.

RAI, he can use it. RAW, he cant use any attacking spells. I would love to use him, slapping him in a bunch of MANz for protection could be quite deadly, but he cant "shoot" so who cares.

Considering that the ork codex was intended for fourth edition and written with fifth in mind, the argument about RAI is difficult, as Phil Kelly obviously didn't intend anything for 6th.

I think the only other victim of that idiotic rule is the broodlord, not exactly a top-notch character itself. Some people just like to play by the rules as they are written. whether it is to their advantage or disadvantage. Don't judge them for playing the game the way they want to.
Politely ask if they are ok with Zogwort using it's shooting attacks before the game, and accept whatever they want to do. Most opponents will allow it, but don't be an ass about it if they don't.

Also keep in mind that RAW old Zogwort can't get an 'eadbanger anymore, as it's also a shooting attack, so it isn't all disadvantages.

Personally I never thought his BS0 was an mistake.

His squig effect is only against ICs though. You mean starting turn 1 he is able to attempt a squigging on an IC? How the crap are you pulling that off since it has a short range?

After the ICs are gone, or theyre out of range, i would LOVE to use Zzap dang it! Zzap is smexy.

zoggy cant shoot... he hasnt been able to shoot for a long time... FAQ is he cannot shoot due to ws 0

just because he still cant shoot, doesnt make the otehr powers less usefull,

he is awesome anti character, and he is good in HTH with 2+ to wound and a good chance at rollin gthe power weapon powers.

just make sure you have a squig model!

Btw, what about Zogy vs nids? What are the IC there? Because in the codex, I can't find any bug with this specification...

Zog is way too pricy for what he does, especially since he can't zapp or frazzle (but can still blow his head up IIRC)

Zogwort has awesome all over him though. So that's why you should use him.

It's just too awesome to even contemplate really. So much fun when it works.

There are two ICs in the 'Nids codex: The Parasite, and Tyranid Primes.
