For suits XV8s, FWs and XV88s and a couple HQs, it is stated that they can take two drones, blah, blah, but doesn't list a point cost.

Yes, I know/figured out that the drones will cost their dozen points each, but that's *not* my query:

My question is, are any of these guys paying points for the Drone Controller, too? I'm looking through the entries and haven't yet found where someone *would* pay for it. It seems any unit having the above option, also has the option to get Support System junk, so, why pay 8 points?

The example of six FWs on the Drone page 33 really screws me up on this. They're only paying for the EMPs?

Maybe the Riptide? Let's say the Monstrous Suit takes its Shielded MDs as stated, and *then* takes a Drone Controller for a couple more ablatives? Good?

Anybody read this clearer than me?

The drone controller isn't needed to take drones. All the drone controller does it let you fire the drones with the controller model's BS. Taking a drone controller doesn't allow you to take drones. You take drones based on what your army listing tells you that you can take.

I reread the DC entry. You're right. Total old 'dex hangover.
