Just thought I'd post a few pictures on here, but if you're at all a member of the Tumblr Warhammer community, you might have already seen these guys.
I wanted to start a Wolf Guard Terminator army, but didn't like being constricted to traditional Space Wolf colours, so I experimented with the idea of different Great Companies having different types of armour/colours.
This army represents a time from before Logan Grimnar, in which the Iron Wolves were ascendent and Ránnulfr Tribebreaker (my count as Grimnar) was favoured as next Great Wolf.
The grey armour of traditional Space Wolves was replaced with dark, beaten metal splashed with reds and yellows.
Hope you like them, I'll probably be posting the rest when I'm finished with them! (The Landraider 'Prowling Mountain' is up next!)
The Tribebreaker, my Grimnar Count as, merciless and cold leader of the Iron Wolf Company
The Lone Wolf, Ingjalder, with his armour painted red as remembrance of his pack.
The Dragonslayer Ørnstein (10 points for guessing where his name comes from), the Rune Priest

Ørnstein, as in the place?
Or a fusion of two awesome bands? (Korn+Rammstien?)
A character from Sex and the City? (Pulling at straws here)
Fingers crossed for 10 Points
OT: I love the colours and the background, I think it's so much better than the normal SW scheme. Love to see more!

Dark Souls! But no spear?
They look really, really good. Much better than the normal Space Wolf scheme.

Great looking models. For some reason I always like SW more when they aren't painted in their codex colours.
Might I ask where Ørnstein's helmet is from?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks to me like it's the helmet from the FW Khorne Terminator Lord Zhufor kit.

Thanks guys! Sorry for not replying sooner!
Ten points goes to Rhigu! I actually tried making a 'force spear' thing, but thought it easier to stick an iron halo on a cut up thunder hammer.
In regards to the head questions, I bought Forgeworld Khorne Lord Zhufor and used that as the base for the wolf lord (hence the spiky legs), then I replaced the torso for one from the Forgeworld Space Wolf Terminator upgrade kit. The Lone Wolf's torso is also from that kit. If anyone can remind me where his axe comes from actually, that'd be great, because I can't for the life of me remember what kit it came from, haha! And yes, as TheFatElf said, the head of Ørnstein is the alternate helmet you get with Zhufor!
Cheers!

Love the grubbiness of the dark red. Space wolves always look clinical. These look like scrappers, ready for some headbashing!
