Not sure what weapons to take on Broadsides as of yet but the main tactic is to, split up into 2 (roughly) equal segments and deploy in the two corners of my board edge. The Fireblades each go in one of the large squads as that gets more use out of their buffs than 4 squads of 10 and then they man the quadguns for interceptor. The alternate to this is just being in one long line with the broadsides in the corners.

My main worries are IG as the amount of templates they can throw down is very scary and I have always had trouble with Guard and iirc I am yet to beat them only force some draws. And also AV14 as only the Riptides will be able to crack it open so that's not really reliable.

I realise this list isn't optimal (it could be turd for all I know) but, I think its is OK and would appreciate any help people can give me.

Thanks

I like how you did double FOC to get 2 ADL+Quad Guns.

I am not one for aegis lines, havin seen them really do much of anything except take up points, and quad guns, dont get me started on how useless I think those guys are...

As for everything else, I am not sure how I feel about aun'va, he got really good overall but starting with the bodyguards which prevents him from joining units kinda sux.

Pathfinders got awesome, GO ION RIFLES!

Havent used the fireblades so not entirely sure on how they perform, but for warriors behind aegis lines they seem to be the ideal choice, especially combined with ethereals, tons of S5 shots.

Isn't ATS useless on the riptide, being that it is a monstrous creature it should be able to precision shot anyways? Or did that get FAQ'd? In any case I know its a cheap upgrade, but Id like to know what your experience with them is like in the future.

The core of Ethereals, fireblades and FW looks quite good to me, as well as the pathfinders. Plenty of firepower to be sure, and with the aegis (+ space pope's exemplar of the selfless cause) it should be fairly easy to keep them alive. I'm not sure about the bonding knives though; if you're using an aegis defence line then chances are you'll be fairly close to the back, and if you run off it's probably because the opponent decided to kill the 3 of them needed, rather than taking out all but 2. Plus, those 2 guys are probably not going to be worth saving TBH. Definitely drop the ritual on the squads of 8, it'll only affect them if there's one guy left, which really isn't worthwhile. It might not seem much, but that's 57 points saved already

The riptides look quite nasty, and I have to say that I approve of the Advanced targeting systems. The Stim Injectors are quite expensive (enough for another broadside between them), but I wouldn't want to face a T6 2+ 5++ FNP 5-Wound MC that can take out any of my tanks or ICs in a single go either, so it looks rather good for 220pts. I'd just be careful about the fact that they're your only anti AV14, and to do this either have to get close or have Gets Hot!, which isn't great.

As for Broadsides, my first thought is that the bonding ritual is points well spent. The Velocity Trackers and 4 missile drones each look like a reasonable setup as well. They're expensive, but probably worthwhile. I'm not sure whether Monats would be better here or not, so I'll assume you're right here. As for the Broadsides' weaponry, I'd say that missiles are generally a little better, though given your lack of anti- AV14, nerfed railguns might be the better option. Despite the quad-guns, the velocity trackers are still a good idea I reckon.

As for IG large blasts, you should be able to keep your FW separated enough to avoid the worst of it while still keeping the squads within 12" of the ethereal (AFAIK it's only got to be 1 guy within 12" anyway). Or alternatively, just hope you don't come up against guard

Overall, I'd say it's quite a good list, though it does definitely need some better answers to AV14, but I think that most armies you come up against won't like it.

Aun'va is a good choice with this list. With 2 ADL you will have most of your army in cover and you can spend 1 turn going to ground behind it (2++) with no penalty due to his warlord trait. I think he's the best option for a tau gunline behind an ADL.
