Toying with the idea of doing at least part of my DA (probably ravenwing) in a darkish purple, with either white, silver or a bright green on shoulders etc
But I can't help always picturing a Chaos SM when I think of purple power armour.

Opinions?

Hey, I know my purples and chaos.

On the contrary, the Hawk Lords Chapter are purple, and it works really well.

colors are not "choas" spikes death, mutations and the like, thats what makes it choas, sir i would reccomend you do whatever colors you like and to hell with anyone who gives you grife

Your army your colors man. its nice to see custom chapters other then smurfs. and as mentioned above look at the Hawk Lords Chapter.

I can not wait to see what you come up with.

Edit one: IF you have your codex handy look at Iron Lords and Death Specters. Both look dark brooding and intimidating. But are standard space marine chapters.

Purple is fine for loyalists, just look at the Emperor's Children.

This probably all stems from when I was playing the 40k : Space Marine PC game multiplayer, my Chaos player for that was purple/black/green.

....Looked bad-ass though.

I've done my Dark Angels in purple with yellow trim and gun casings, with ivory cloth pieces.
Ivory deathwing with purple cloth pieces, yellow gun casings and bits of shiny gold detail.
Ravenwing black bikes with silver trim, with purple riders.

I really like it, I realise its a touch close to the Hawk Lords scheme, but with a Dark Talon, Speeder Vengeance, lots of Ravenwing and Deathwing...with all those feathers and sword icons Its rather obviously Dark Angels codex army.

Lol purple and yellow is what I've been working on with my "test marines". I'm tempted to do mostly yellow but purple shoulders etc and call them an Imperial Fist successor when played as vanilla marines, they'd have the DA icon etc yeh, but that can be explained away, and they would just be a successor when played as DA too. Do raven wing light green with purple and deathwing black with purple. BOOM.
