I have so many plasma guns from trying to use Abaddon and Chosen. Meanwhile as I try to get my khorne list and daemons ready, I could not stop thinking about using the other half of my army. I want to spam as many multiple small groups of plague marines toting plasma. To compliment the short range of the plasma guns, I will be using havocs with lascannons and oblits and try not to use models from the other list

It is a very interesting list, though I will say my friend tried doing the same exact thing, and it didn't work sadly. His plasma guns burned his marines to death and by foot slogging it across the field in small squads, he was easy pickings.

Granted, plasma guns are nothing to shake a stick at, but you don't need that much. Personally, I think you only need 2.

Your guys also need transports, a bunch of small squads foot slogging it across the battlefield are easy pickings for long ranged armies.

Personally, I would recommend taking a Helldrake (or a daemon prince with wings as an HQ), at 1500 points you should take at least 1 flyer, on account of your opponents will probably do so too.

Instead of havocs and Obliterators, I would take terminators.

Personally, I'd recommend a list more like this.

Typhus (or a daemon prince if you want to shave your squads down a bit)

7 plague marines, fist champ, 2 melta: rhino
7 plague marines, fist champ, 2 melta: rhino
7 plague marines, 2 plasma: rhino
Helldrake
3 chaos terminators (3 combi plasma, 1 axe 2 swords)
3 chaos terminators (2 combi melta, fist, maul, sword)

I do not see the point in taking typhus without a squad of xombies and then having to take termi to accompany typhus when I can get a lord and MoN to unlock plague matines as troops.

I like how traditional your list is. I am disappointed to find out how unaffective msu plague marines with 2 plasmaguns are.

I have a heldrake but I just hate using it since it always seems to lose to other flyers and adl+quadguns the turn after it comes in. if I use a drake then I must have 3.

I have 6 rhinos to put them in but that would be 210pts minimum. The solution is to use less groups but more bodies like you suggest.

I need to think about this some more.

You could put half the guys in Rhinos since you still need back field / midfield dudes to protect your own objectives. Or get some cheapo cultists to do that for you.

Actually the problem with the original list wasn't overheating. On average 12 plasma gun shots from 12 guys will only yield .44 deaths and if all 12 double tap only .88 deaths so still less then one PM. The issue is more that when you foot slog, you will need to put the PM up front generally to gain or maintain range which means they are the first to die. Still I say try the list and see how it plays before disregarding it.

I like MSU plasma spam. I use dual plasma guns on my marines which work well but there is nothing for the 8 boltguns to do every so often.

This is definately a good idea as it will provide you with some much needed movement. If you maybe remove the footslogging squad you could get the lord a bike and some nurgle bikers with plasma guns to guard him. To get four bikers with dual plasma and nurgle you may also need to ditch the dozer blades though.

With 8/10 lascannons i dought you will need melta bombs on the lord and plague marines so getting rid of those will give you another 20 pts to play around with.

10 csm w/ 2 plasma= waste of 8 bolters
5 plague w/ 2 plasma= waste of 3 bolters

8/10 LC is often not enough when I need 5s to glance and 6 to penetrate av14. That is when I have a plasma gun squad choose to charge with 1 meltabomb. The plasma guns is to help vs mc especially with poisoned knives and light vehicles, but for 5pt they have a small chance to hurt av14.

Also, I find spawns more appealing since they have 2 wounds and I can model them from spare bits.
