I noticed this while looking at a Skyray, but it seems you wouldn't need to necessarily use a Skyray to execute it.

A vehicle with a Point Defense Targeting Relay is allowed to Overwatch (and has Supporting Fire) but only with weapons of S5 or less.

A Seeker Missile fired via Markerlight is fired by the unit it is mounted on "in addition to any other weapons it is permitted to fire"

I'm wondering, could a vehicle with a Point Defense system who is targetting a unit with a Markerlight counter on it fire a Seeker Missile as part of it's overwatch because that "in addition to..." statement is strong enough to allow the firing to be above and beyond whatever limitations it's current shooting action might have?

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Sounds fair, given it is what allowed PotMS to fire when moving flat out, etc.

Sounds ok, but it's made me think of a follow up question that would I believe fall under the same ruling.
Can you use markerlights to fire seeker missiles if the vehicle is stunned?

Damn, that's a good question. The old codex called out that you could fire it, since the missile wasn't in control of it. That seems to be different now.

I'm leaning towards yes, but, it could go either way.

Generations have suffered with the same devotion that we can offer but once. Still, our Faith leads us through these dark times like a beacon. It will guide us to triumph over these abominations. Either by breaking them upon us like waves against a limitless, golden peak or by thrusting through them like the spear of the Immortal Emperor Himself." - Cannoness Aoife, Order of the desert rose #Yesallwomen

I think the issue with that would be that the Vehicle has to be firing to be eligible to expend Markerlights and fire it's Seeker Missiles.

My immediate reaction was that they can't make a firing action in the first place to initiate the Seeker Missile shots HOWEVER, that would mean the Seeker Missile's "does not need line of sight" rule is entirely redundant, because you also couldn't ever initiate a firing action against a unit that is out of line of sight.

So while I'm still not certain on the RAW here, I think there's a strong case for saying that a vehicle that otherwise can't fire, can still fire Seeker Missiles via Markerlight.
