Good evening,
I made some green stuff recently (50:50 mix of blue/yellow putty) to cast a shield for my librarian. It has been over 48 hours in a normal dry environment yet is still not rock hard. It has hardened and kept its shape but is a little flexible still.
Is this normal for green stuff? It is the first time i have ever made something from it and not just used it to fill gaps and make small details.
Thanks for your help.

Green stuff will always have a bit of bounce to it, from what I've seen. How flexible are we talking here?

That sounds normal to me, greenstuff has a bit of a rubberyness to it, Milliput on the other hand is rock hard and brittle. Mixing the two together in different ratio's gets you somewhere inbetween hard & brittle and soft & bendy.

I always mix 1.5 yellow to 1 for blue. Once it is in position I use a toothpick to run superglue over all the surface and the edges. Typically this is dry enough to start using the model with after about two hours. It really shouldn't have any bounce when dry.

Green Stuff always stays slightly flexible, as others have noted. Unsupported elements are at risk of bending.

That's great feedback ..thank you all.
I might try to get my hands on some milliput and experiment with mixing.
Whilst i can see the merit of the superglue style .. I can just see myself getting glue in all the wrog places.
Happy modelling.
