Has anyone here used these? I'm not opposed to spending the few extra $$$ for W&N or Raphael, but if these Dick Blicks are of acceptable quality, I see no reason not to save myself a little money.

Never tried the dickblick ones, but these are every bit as good as series 7 with a significant price difference;

Postage to USA might change things... worth a look though.

Unfortunately, it does. Started the check out process to get shipping cost, and it's almost $11 for shipping. Bummer.

I've been using them for a good while now. I have W&N and Raph brushes as well, but the Blick's brushes get used the most. Good springback, hold a point well, bristles don't curl. Quality sable brush.

Cool. I think I'll give one a try.

I was just looking at them myself. Thanks OP for the Q&A

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Thats a shame, great brushes though, they also do a rather nice drybrush, they call it 'masters choice' its made from mongoose hair i think, very soft, yet firm.
$11 doesnt sound too bad if you were to order a bunch of brushes, but for just one or even two it would be a bit riddiculous

I haven't used Blick's Kolinskys. But I've been happy with their red sable and their economy golden taklon brushes in the short time I've been using them. The cheapie taklon ones, in particular, are really quite decent $1-2 brushes for a lot of general painting where razor-straight lines and perfect flow control are not paramount concerns. I still reach for my Series 7 brushes too, but the difference is way less than the price suggests. Long-term durability of either the sables or the taklons remains to be seen, as I only received them a week or two ago.
