I got myself hopelessly confused in another thread over in Tactics, but my question relates to rules so thought it best to bring it here.
Can someone tell me if any following are wrong and point me to the rule reference to help me...
1) The Hunting Lance changed in 6e. I can't actually remember what is was in 5e, and I literally cut-and-paste 6e mods over the top of my codex. It now has the Melee type, and also the First Charge rule, meaning that it can be used the first time the unit successfully charges, and strikes at I5. See the IG Errata for this.
2) Rough Riders may take a CCW or laspistol (both having the Melee type when used in CC)
3) p51, LHS, last sentence, says if we have 2x Melee weapons we get +1A
4) As the RR has two Melee weapons he can choose which one to attack with (also p51)
So, in 6e, a Rough Rider will get 3 attacks (sgt 4) in the round they charge, at I5, resolved with the profile of the Hunting Lance : 1A for profile (2A for sgt), +1 for 2 Melee weapons, +1 for the Charge
I pretty sure in earlier editions, you only got to make 1 attack with the Lance, and/or it was not considered a close combat weapon so you didn't get the bonus attack, but as I say, my codex is editted and I can't remember.

Out of curiosity, why does it matter what it used to say? It is no longer the same wording. To answer your question however, previously you did not get a bonus attack for two weapons.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Yes, what you wrote is correct. It is now also a bonus to S, not a set value, so furious charge finally has an effect

Yes, I'm really liking the idea of Mogul Kamir skippering a squad, with Rage for +2A on the charge
Shooting squads and overwatch might have something to say about how many horsies get to play though.

I love my RR squads even more now. In 5th they were a nice counter charge with 6" move+fleet+12" charge. But now with the new changes, Kamir makes them a rather effective IMHO. 10 RR+Kamir=145pts for (might be off by 1-2, no codex at work) 35 S6 AP3 I5 attacks on the charge. While they are only WS3, that is still enough attacks to take out most MEQ before they get to strike back. And then they can run around with their krak grenades (standard) harrasing vehicles.
