Has anyone else noticed just how insane over watch on broadsides are?

I got to use supporting fire on the broadsides to deliver 12TL SMS shots and 3 TL rail shots (I can only imagine how much more sickening this would have been if I were using the High Yield Missile pods). With supporting fire they can protect another unit.

What are your thoughts on using HYMP broadsides with the system that boosts overwatch to BS2?

Yes they would be extremely destructive with BS2 overwatch. I just feel its sort of a waste of points. Broadsides can only take one support system, and interceptor is definitely the way to go for missilesides. Having a >200 point unit there simply to babysit firewarriors isn't a very good use of points. Its more icing on the cake.

Plus you don't really need the counter-fire support system with good markerlight support adding BS to overwatch.

The problem with markerlight support for overwatch is that you have to snapfire the markerlights as they only count for the current phase. So it isn't really reliable.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

Re-read the multitracker info, you can only fire two weapons in the shooting phase sadly.

Bugger. Well spotted there. Here's hoping for a Helldrake bent FAQ ruling.

Wait... you can't overwatch with both weapons on a suit? That... that sucks.
Hard.

You should be able to. We have a multitracker that lets us shoot an additional weapon in the shooting phase. Overwatch rule states that "An Overwatch attack is resolved like a normal shooting attack (albeit one resolved in the enemy's Assault phase) and uses all the normal rules for range, line of sight, cover saves and so on."

multi track says "A model with a Multi-tracker can fire an additional weapon in each Shooting phase." pg 69. No dice

That sounds like something that should be faq'd don't see why the support system wouldn't work for Overwatch as well :S

It's that "in the assault phase" thing. I looked up that same passage, but it seems pretty clear that shooting phase just means shooting phase.

I did go back and check the wording of the multi tracker in the old codex which said allows a battlesuit to fire two weapon systems in the same turn. Yeah, I can see it now how significant the difference between turn and phase is between the two wordings.
