I've finally convinced my roommate to give sixth edition a try after he said he was done with the game, so we'll be starting slow with a few 500 point games to learn the basic rules all over again. It will be his first game and my fifth game. I have a footslogging Dark Eldar list that I will be using against his Space Wolves. I thought this would be a good 500 point list:

HQ - Haemonculus
Troops - 3 Wracks
Troops - 8 Wyches w/ Haywires, Succubus upgrade w/ Agoniser
Fast Attack - 2 Beastmasters, 5 Khymarae, 1 Razorwing Flock

Allied Troops - 5 Eldar Rangers

Fortification - Aegis Defense Line w/ Quadgun

The Wracks man the Quadgun and stay with the Rangers behind the ADL to claim objectives on that side of the board, while the Haemonculus joins the Wyches for a pain token and advance behind the Beastpack to contest objectives on his side of the board.

If you're learning the rules how come you're taking an "illegal" list?

The Succubus is another HQ choice, to go with your Haemonculus, and you can't take Eldar as allies because you don't have one of their HQs which you have to take.

I am assuming you mean the "Hekatrix" upgrade for the Wytches. Their character upgrade is not a succubus. A Succubus is an HQ IC like the Archon or Haemonculus.

If you want to take allies you need to take 1 HQ and 1 Troops from the allies codex.

Footslogging as Dark Eldar is a bit counter intuitive to their strengths. The main units of the DE codex are T3 with 5+ or 6+ saves. They die to a stiff breeze and need to either stay put in cover or the need to be in a boat (raider or venom) to get where they need to be.

The best way to do footslogging is really using coven units due to their increased toughness - but you are shooting yourself in the foot as you lose out on one of the Dark Eldar's best weapons - Speed!

suggestion for 1000pts. Fill it out with transports with dark lance.
