This is such an epic troll unit. You Deepstrike in the middle of the enemy formation like a boss without scatter, flame his most precious unit to death with 8 Flamers and pop a vehicle with Target Lock Melta. If Anything charges you it takes 8d3 Flamer hits + 8d6 Str 4 hits. Trust me, even a Bloodthirster will die to that.
The best thing about Repulsor field is that it hits every unit charging you... so the more units that charge the better!
If he doesn't suicide-charge you, just rampage round his army burninating whatever you want and charging the squishy units with Farsight. Volume of fire armies? Make up to 6 units around you Get Hot on their lasguns... and watch them kill themselves. Soak up to 8 wounds on 4++ drones.

BTW, I'm a fan of mathhammer and don't like it when people make statements without actually looking at the math. 8d3 avg = 16hits 8d6 avg = 28hits for a total of 44hits.
Wounds on 6's, 7.3 wounds.
3+ Armor save. = 2.44 wounds
Then the Bloodthirster kills your whole unit.

Yeah, flamers and AP- hits are great vs horde armies, not so much vs, power armor. Your MEQ player will *shrug* and them smite your very conveniently placed 'Slay the Warlord' point.

Standard deathstar unit, but the point is that there are some units that could give you problems. Large FNP units and multiple MCs could be difficult to cope with.
That said, it's a solid troll unit, and against guard especially could wreck face. Just keep in mind that there are some dedicated melee units that will soak your volume of fire on the charge and tear you up. But otherwise, I could definitely see this unit causing problems for people.

Meh, the problem with a unit like that is when it can't deep-strike to effectively engage worthwhile targets. Orks/Guard blobs will ruin this squads day because they can simply spread to max coherency, minimize damage and then the army can be free to focus fire on you. If you choose to deepstrike away then you've wasted Farsight's biggest tool.
A situation-based unit that I would not touch in a true TAC list because I think itll suffer from bad matchups that are prevalent in the "meta."

7 bodyguard with fusion, plasma, various support systems.
1 bodyguard with all the cool signature systems
2 gun drones each
16S6AP2, 9S8AP2 Melta, 14S5AP5 Pinning, rerollable ignores cover. Unit has stealth, shrouded, hit and run, causes get hot on enemy shooting, Counter Attack/MonsterHunter/TankHunter.
Kills 15 TEQ or 30 MEQ within 18" on arrival (with a little markerlight help) or explodes 3 AV14 vehicles within 9".
You have 16 drones to eat any shooting hits, a T5/2+ model to prevent ID, with Counterattack you do 37S5 (5 with armorbane) + 16S3 combat attacks against the unit that charges you plus 4 MEQ kills on overwatch. And then you have VRT to run away...

You would never be able to use all 8 of those flamers after a deepstrike btw.
Deepstriking forces you into a circle-pattern around the first model you place (waiting on my dex, but far as i have heard only the SCATTER part of the deepstrike rule is changed for Farsight).
This goes into the other Template rules in the BRB. They cannot overlap any friendly models including those in your own unit. Lot of people overlook that when placing their models and render their flamers useless.
Bit of a silly rule to slap in there as it basically kills a unit of flamers (except Burna Wagons as they cannot hit themselves). Either way, 2-3 flamers will still go off and probably cause some pain, the rest will be strictly overwatch.
