So, even though the Burst Cannon is largely inferior to the SMS, a Commander can have two, or two twin-linked. That's 8 S5 shots coming off of one BS5 dude. God forbid Shadowsun is in the unit, because you'd be able to re-roll to hits of 1. And of course, you can stick both Shadowsun and the Commander with a Riptide. Add shielded missile drones for Majority Toughness 6 and Shadowsuns shieldies for 3++ Anyone else think of any more ways to get an obscene amount of shots out of their units?

And depending on the wording, most people might just see it as two twin linked ones.
Stacking a suit with burst cannons is just not something I see all that useful as it is very easy to get S5 elsewhere in the army.

I think it has a use if you run him with gun drones, can't complain about a bunch of cheap Str. 5 guns that can threaten all sorts of infantry. It's nice to have the Burst cannons on suits because they can move fast and threaten squishy objective campers late in the game.

I've been trying to track down the old crisis suit mathhammer articles... no luck there.
But, out of those a crisis suit with PR/BC was overall one of the most efficant killers of GEQ, MEQ, and TEQ.
That was when the burst cannon was only 3 shots, instead of 4.
This does give you a range problem, having to be within 18", which is only one of the factors why most people wanted MPs.. and for light vehicle hunting (which is no longer as much of a problem?).
I've been thinking about running shadowsun with a C&C drone attached to 3 crisis only armed with a PR and BC (keep points down some).
shadowsun adds in a fusion, which is now equal range as the burst cannons, plus she can use the other fusion gun on a nearby vehicle as per her special rules.
Plus, cover saves, 4+ in the open on the whole squad and rerolling 1s on all 16-19 shots.
Then 3D6 assault move away!
This is NOT a we can get str 5 everywhere in our codex arguement, its more of a mathhammer arguement, only I can't find the old mathhammer stuff for the different crisis suit configs...
looks like I might have to start my own from scratch :(

You really don't need to math-hammer it out. It's pretty obvious that having Str5 4 shot weapons will definitely help stack wounds on GEQ, MEQ and TEQ. It is a very viable suit set-up that I wouldn't scoff at.

My burst cannon toting stealth suits always do well! They either kill some stuff because my opponent ignores them, or they are in cover just soaking up shot after shot. 4 shot BC are just gonna be even more annoyin for my enemy lol

Also wanted to add in that a Pathfinder unit with two gun drones, a Recon Drone, and Cadre Fireblade put out 25 S5 shots at 18".

spend 15 points on a pulse accelerator drone and it does that at 24 inches.

Might be old news already but what about a Fireblade in a unit and a nearby Ethreal, wouldn't that allow Fire Warriors to get 4 shots when the enemy reaches 15"?
