Hey guys, I'm going to try and bring some of my community together and bring 40k into our otherwise barren tabletop community. I had some questions,

1) Has anyone ever done this successfully and how the players you had felt about it?

2)What kind of points costs did you use?

3) How often did you scale your points

4) When you did the painting did you have a minimum of colors or was it just, "paint as you can"

5) What was the incentive you used to keep people interested in collecting and how well did that work?

Overall, I'm truly excited to be wargaming a lot closer to home. I need some advice but I know this can be a really great thing for my community. If you guys know something or have experienced something I've not mentioned PLEASE let me know!

We have a similar thing going with WHFB. The manager at my local GW is doing a campaign which starts off very small with like an HQ and you earn points to upgrade and will eventually add troops etc to the army as the campaign goes on.

I like the idea as I have a tendency with new armies to bite off more than i can chew and buy lots of things with no idea how they work, plus it doesn't put massive financial constraints on people.

If you start with a small point bracket, maybe 200 or so with an HQ and possibly some troops, and if you have a bunch of an army like nids then there can be a collective survival camaign in which you grow your forces and eventually start to turn on each other.

Points wise id probably go with 200, 500, 750, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1850, 2000, depending how long you want it to go on etc. The longer you do it the more peopleI imagine would do it since not everyone can throw $200 into something like that.

See what kind of interest you get and then get oppinions from them.
