Hey dakka, I've got me the allied contents of two Open Fire boxes, as well as Machine Gun platoon that I picked up for ten bucks. Just wondering where I should go from here?

I'm not sure what kind of army to make, except that I want to play the Good Guys this time around (as opposed to my evil tendencies in 40k). Heck, I barely even know whats out there.

Thinking Americans or ANZAC, and either a Tank army (to litter the map with flaming Sherman wreckage!) or Engineers corps (to litter the map with awesome DIY defenses), and if I can get an Armoured Train into either force you've got me sold.

What do you guys reckon?

Well with open fire you have

british armour and US paras and is the MG platoon UK or US?

US have lists for almost all theatres, but ANZAC is only found in italy in late war.

Sadly I don't think US or UK get armoured trains

Its a British MG, but I'm not much of a stickler for uniforms and such so I'll use it for anything.

Where can I find ANZAC in Mid-War? North Africa I imagine but no idea which book that is (all those books are a little confusing)

ANZAC are in Cassino and North Africa books which is v2 books, but still good.

With the Open Fire "good" guys, you could run a UK, USA or even Soviet army. Those M5 and M4A1 Shermans were everywhere!

UK- You could run a Armored Company with M5 Shermans and Fireflies, backed by US Paratroopers.

USA- Either Armored Company or US Paratrooper supported by armor.

USSR- Armored Company. They had Shermans as part of the lend lease programs, and some lists in FoW list Shermans in Soviet armies.
