I like it! Only suggestion I have is give the second commander a drone controller and add in 14 drones at bs 5. Maybe drop one of the broadside teams or 2 squads of fire warriors to pay for it. Broadsides are awesome, but having 14 extra wounds on Your farsighted bomb is probably more awesome.

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.

War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

Does it need hit and run? Could add it. Don't want to add drones as it is already nearly 800 points. 14 drones takes it beyond 900!

Drone without a Controller

Without drones your precious crisis suits are exposed directly against missiles or lascannons which causes them instant death.
I suggest adding some drones, too.
it is not mandatory adding drones at their full capacity, just adding 6~8 of them makes Farsight bomb much tougher.

I have iridium. Anything with a lot of missile or lascannon shots either gets targeted and dies before it shoots or ends up with the commander as nearest guy. I could take the FWs down to 6 men. But drones don't have decent armour and you can't LOS to them unless from a commander so they just end up eating boltgun rounds nd causing break tests...

Which is why you take a bunch, and stick the commander or farsight in front. With the bofyguards, both auto pass LOS! so it will always be a drone eating a the ID round.

The only problem I see with this and it's a fairly large one, is that it relies too heavily on that unit to do heavy lifting.

Barnowl but a smart opponent gets around that. The ID wounds shouldn't be an issue anyway and the footprint of that unit is getting out of hand. I might take 2-3 drones max.

LValx yes that is how the Farsight Bomb works. It DSs in and kills your opponents 2 best units or his deathstar if he has one.

What if the opponent is playing with a Horde army, or he has no deathstar? That is my problem with the unit. In many games I imagine there being a lack of worthy targets or your opponent even managing to deploy well and forcing you to engage lesser targets. I know my Tau Ork list would be happy to see such a unit because I could easily force you to shoot Orks and not care too much about you doing so.

I think it is just a little too match-up dependent. Some games itll do very, very well, others I think it will do very little.

Perhaps swapout the CDS for flamers? But hordes don't really cause me problems due to the volume shots from the rest of the army. Most horde armies I see are are either poor armies or have a hammer unit or have lots of MCs. So I still have good targets for the farsight bomb.

I disagree. Heres Tony Kopachs army:
2 Rune Priest
Primaris Psyker
2x PCS
2x 50 Guard blobs with power weapons
2x Manticore
3x Vendetta

He could very feasibly bubblewrap so that you can only shoot the blob and therefore not make efficient use, in turn he would likely wipe the unit off the table with prescienced and FRFSRF'd Lasguns.

My Tau/Ork Army has 20 Kroot and 60 Orks. I'd do something similar, spread out and force you to shoot Orks or Kroot and then punish the squad.

8 Broadsides and Fire Warriors are not enough to punish a true Horde and they are definitely out there. More and more lists take giant blobs and some of them take 2. I've seen a fair few Green tide lists and those are even worse.

Even Nids can really make it tough by spawning and spreading out Gants, thus dictating where you can drop.

Horde thinning is were I think the added firepower of BS5 gun drones id important for the bomb. Yes it has a large foot print, but given the way saves are now per model, it just does not have the same down side it used.
