A coworker of mine found out that recently I had gotten into painting miniatures for a stress relief. I don't play any of the games, I just love the creative outlet of painting the figures. I have done 6 or so so far. Apparently, he was huge into gaming back in the late 80's into the late 90's, and amassed a big collection. this was the first few boxes of stuff he gave me. I am not even sure were to begin to be honest... It is a huge collection of completed models, some half finished, and a ton of ones yet to even be cut out of the plastic. And a very large number of metal figures. those I have found to be the coolest so far. I think I might be able to build a working army out of all of this.

if it is all a bunch of random stuff then your best bet for making an army is prob going with 40k and chaos as you can convert anything to be chaotic.

guard could be cultists
trolls or ogres or aany fantasy beasts could easily become spawn

the possibilities are endless and also chaos are in the 40k starter set so you can easily get the rule book and a core to your new army .

Welcome.

You should know that some of these models from the 80's will be worth a fair bit, depending on what they are.

I can imagine it will be a long job simply identifying what all these are if you're new to the hobby (and if they are not sealed in boxes).

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
