Hello there (updated with Wave Serpent!)

Well I ended up on here a few times before taking the plunge and indulging myself in Warhammer again. I hadn't played since I was about 15 and I'm just about to finish uni and figured I should get back into it. I have an old Sisters army I will, at some point, paint up. But at the moment I've gone for Alaitoc Eldar. I just thought I'd share what I've done so far and you can tell me what you think/any hints.

I'm doing my Wave Serpant over the next few days too, so that's a thing.

Enjoy

Just bare in mind these are my first since I was 15. I've taken my time on them I know the eyes are pretty dreadful but I think otherwise they're alright?
1) Guardians
2) Tank pattern (for all tanks)
3) Wave Serpent (not finished)

They look awesome, you have definitly spent a fair bit of time on them, everything looks great and i like the classic eldar scheme, you definitly still have your painting skills, and one more time they look fantasic.

Thanks :3

And trust me I wasn't a good painter before hand, I was actually dreadful! I didn't know tht one should thin their paint or how to drybrush, highlight or use layers before haha.

I'm honestly proud of these as they're the best thing I've painted so far!

I got 20 Dire Avengers (inc 2 Exs) today - so I need to undercoat them. They'll be done after I finish my Wave Serpant, though I need to buy metal paints, and rust paints so I can make it look more used around the engines. More to come over the next week hopefully :3

Yeah, I'd say you're off to a good start. The yellow is clean which is an annoying thing to do.

I literally did about 10 layers of yellow. It's not *as* clean in person, but I don't think it's too bad. Still, at least they look alright :3

A thought for your Wave serpent; some of the old school Alaitoc Eldar paintjobs had this nice stippled effect on the blue areas, should be easy enough to pull off and it'll help break up the areas that would otherwise just be flat blue.

This is what I mean:

"Do you think it is an easy task to inflate a dog?" - Cervantes

"Do you have a map of the cat?" - Richard Feynman

How to paint Skeletons the way I do if that's something you'd fancy trying.

I saw this but I've tried doing stippling and I'm just really bad at it, I just don't understand how to do it really! I'll try again soon, but if not I've got a stripe scheme planned out that will have different shades to help break up the blue too, along with yellow too.

This Wave Serpant I'm doing was second hand so, unfortunately, the cockpit glass is basecoated too so it's not going to be in my army forever, and same for the Falcon. To an extent they're my trial runs, same as those Guardians.

My Dire Avengers arrived today so need to do a trail one of them too. :3

Hey all. So I've added pictures of my Wave Serpent, and I have my Dire Avengers here now, so have them and my Falcon to do. 20 Dire Avengers, that's going to take me about 5 hours or something stupid to do properly haha.
