I finally acquired a new computer and Its up to snuff to run Dawn of War II. Is it worthwhile to purchase all three of the games? Or would it be better to do like i did for the last one and just go straight to the most recent one, Retribution?

I'd get all three unless you're not a fan of Space Marines.

I'm actually going to be going back and playing through DoWII at some point, once I figure out how to swap out Force Commander Hairgel in the campaign for Apollo.

Pretty much. I consider the best one of the three to be the middle one but if you arnt a fan of the Imperials just get the last one.

If you enjoy the Imperials (im an IG man myself though I do like SMs) so I enjoyed the hell out of DoW2 (more so than 1 actually)

So to try and clear up any last doubts I'm having. (I'm not very Tech Savy)

Here is what Steam says is recommended for Retribution:
Spoiler:
Recommended:

OS: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7
Processor: Any Core 2 , Athlon X2, or better
Memory: 2GB RAM or higher (XP, Vista, Windows 7)
Hard Disk Space: 8.5GB space free
Video Card: 256 MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 (Nvidia GeForce 7800GT or any Nvidia GT200 series or better, ATI X1900 or any HD3600 series or better
Other: Online Steam Account

And here is What my computer has:
Spoiler:
OS: Win 8
Processor: Dual-Core 1.7GHz, 2mb cache
Memory: 4GB
My Hard disk has PLENTY of room left
Video Card: Integrated Intel HD Graphics (?)

It is mostly the processor and Video card that trip me up. Anyone have any say?

EDIT: Good to hear, Im good with All Imperial Factions so I think I'll be grabbing all three. Provided the machine can handle it

Integrated GPU could definitely be iffy.

Thats what I was afraid of. The look around I did said Pre-Intergrated ones usually aren't the best

The GPU looks a little more forgiving on the "minimum" Requirements: Video Card: 128 MB Video Card using Shader Model 3 (Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT / ATI X1600)

But then, as I have said, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing here

This is a laptop, I assume?

A good assumption. Bang on the head. It was a graduation present. It's handled Everything else my old computer couldn't so I had a vague hope!

Well, I wouldn't give up hope yet. I've run stuff I didn't think I could run on integrated graphics before.

I can't say for sure whether it'll handle it or not, but there's only one way to find out. If you've got twenty spare bucks, might be worth it.

Retribution is the best of the three, but all three are worth playing.

I enjoyed dow2 but requireing games for windows live as well as steam is a bit of a pain.

Especially for me since I forgot my games for windows live password and lost acess to the email account that was tied to it thus loseing access to my copy of dow2 forever.

Retribution doesn't require GFWL.

To find out how your integrated GPU will handle the games, see what Microsoft rating says about it.
On Windows Vista and 7 it's in the Control Pnael, in System, and rates various parts of your rig.
If it's a Games for Windows game, and DOW2 is (at least the Choas one is), it should lists the specs you need based on that.

I've racked up >400 hours on the 3 DoW2 games, just solo games.
150+ on 1 and 2, and every race on 3.
If you just want to buy 1 game, I'd say to get Retribution.
If you're in for the long haul, play through both 1 and 2 a couple of times, changing the skills you build up on the characters.

generally a third gen intel (ivy bridge / 3XXX series etc) should run it no problem. I have a lenovo u310 and it has a integrated gpu and it runs gw2 sc2 minecraft league no problems.

Were there be dragons....

You may not be able to run the top settings but you will have enough processing power from your intergrated graphics and cpu to run it.
