This is the 3rd and final game of my tournament and its my eldar vs necrons, in a purge the alien mission with dawn of war deployment

http://skulkers-surprise.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/40k-at-forge-game-3-eldar-vs-necrons.html

It was quite the learning experience as i have never played necrons before.

Comments on how to improve my game against the metal monsters would be greatly appreciated

The Twilight Zone

Gauss weapons will trash any armor you field, so be careful about those.

The main thing about crons is they have an effective range of 24", so just stay out of that range and shoot them down. Just keep moving out of their range and shooting at them so the crons cant return fire.

If you breach that range, be going in for the kill. You are correct about focusing them down unit by unit. Once they die, no coming back.

Not sure if they can take a cryptek with a 2+ save, only lords can get that.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Thanks sterling. Well I will keep thay in mind next time I face necrons. Its just a shame I dont have any local necron players to practice on.

@Malduran
Learn to write. If i read "defiantly" in place of "definitely" one more time i will find you and hurt you. I will do this because i love you

Your game could have gone better, unlucky. I'll have to let you "borrow" some of my codexes so you'll be better prepared next time.

Peace Out!
Jonny!

I play both Eldar and Necrons and I can tell you, you did well. It seemed like a fun game and although Necrons are a tough nut to crack it was a pretty close game.

Thank you for keeping the same camera angle. That's really important for us readers to keep our bearings. I would have liked to see some close up shots of some of the battles though. The minis looked great and some of the further away ones were unidentifiable.

I also have to agree with RubberJonny; it would be nice if you went through your batrep before posting and did a thorough spelling and grammar check. At times it was distracting enough to take away from the good parts, especially at the end.

Overall it was a decent report though. Good job and good luck dealing with those pesky crons in the future.

I will try to go over them in future but I cant promise I will pick up on my mistakes (im terrible at spelling).

I would have preferred to have taken more pics but I didn't want to waste to much time.

I totally understand not wanting to slow down the game. that and the amount of unpainted and proxied models I currently have are the top reasons I don't do batreps.

Overall it was a good battle report though. Keep it up.
