What units work best in conjunction with Plague Marines? I run a Nurgle Lord so they are my Troops. I have a couple of lists with them and just wanted some outside input in order to refine them. So what other units would you include in a list that features PMs as Troops and to what effect: target saturation, ranged firepower, etc.?

Aren't plague marines kinda self-contained?

Agree with Martel. Plaque marines are entirely self contained. You just need to complement them with long range (over 24") shooting in the rest of the army.

Rolling up Invisibility with a sorcerer would be funny.

I need to return some video tapes.

Im not asking what units could be added to--, I am asking what units work well in conjunction with--. I already have a few builds with them and was hoping to see what others are running with PMs and to what effect: target saturation, support, etc. I am trying to refine a list and just wanted some outside input.

Plague marines are defensive and awesome at camping objectives. The units you take to cause damage are pretty independent of this. My foes usually have havocs, helldrakes, oblits, and noise marines.

I have really been playing with the idea of Noise Marines. It is an interesting one to me that I think could combo well with the PMs. The thing is: does he take them in rhinos and move upfield, does he sit them back in cover, does he take a Slaanesh Lord to make them troops and a steed to infiltrate them?

Anything with long range fire works well with them: Autocannon Havocs, MoN Oblits, stuff like that. Also MoN bikes work well as flankers for a different kind of backfield strike. A Sorcerer could work well too, especially Biomancy or Telepathy. Also putting the PMs in Rhinos for mobility and some safety does wonders. Does this help?

Rhinos are really nice for plague marines because it gives them mobility.

Havocs and hellturkey. Like has been said above with plague marines you already have your defensive needs taken care of. Now you need a strong offense. So what do you have trouble with? Vehicles, flyers, or troops?

I have had a lot of success with my Heavy Bolter Havacs. I know a lot of people say I should get autocannons, because they are the same points, but it is really fun using those guys. Also I like to use typhus and a zombie squad, or terminators. A pair of vindicators also works wonders. Plague marines are really tough and are a great troop choice, but they have a tendency to be out of range or have problems with harder targets. So you just need to take some heavy hitters, they can really be any of the damage dealers in the codex that float your boat. I feel the units you really like and put a lot of work into do a lot better than units that you took because someone else told you they were great. If it fits with how you like to play they will perform well.

Rhinos? I like running mine with some Rhinos. I need at least a few of my troops to move up to the midfield objectives so they just hop in the rhino and zip away.

Havocs are great in any chaos list.

I think Plague Marines are very awesome. Do's and don't's!

DO: Move them Plague Marines up to midfield! They excel at close range shooting, use the shrouding under 8"!
Don't: Sit back and wait. You're spending a lot of points on a deckchair if you plan on having them sit and not shoot.

DO: Assault basically anything in range! Plague Marines thump Tac Marines, Space Wolves, Guardsmen, and pretty much anything besides a dedicated assault troop (th/ss termis come to mind). Plaguemarines have uber-grit, grenades, t5, fnp, 3+ and poison,..., making them better than most things in assault.
Don't: Assault Grey Knights, they will strike first, ignore your armor, and forceweapon away your feel no pain. Plus, you'll be affected by whatever wonky grenades they have. Your only chance here is the fact that they usually only have one attack per model.

DO: Take double special weapons and consider a combiweapon.
DON'T: Overspend on your champion. If you're not going combi-weapon, I'd consider a fist. With a fist, your squad can threaten anything.

DO: Ride in style! Make your journey to midfield a quick one by taking a rhino. You'll do okay, if you're shot out of the Rhino, now you have cover, and if you're within 8", you're 3+ cover! WOOO!
Don't: Start far away if you're walking. It will take a while and you'll waste a lot of time not being in the 12" killzone!

I win lots of games due to the fact that Plague Marines can do it all. You just have to use them, not treat them like objective campers.

Just to clarify on the defensive grenades; the defensive grenades grant Stealth (not shrouded) agaisnt any shooting attack from a unit that is within 8" of the plague marines.

Well that is an awesome bit of information. I only thought they were assault/defensive grenades. Could you tell me if they work against overwatch if you are assaulting from within 8"?
