I was wondering if anyone here has tried the starter missions in the Dark Vengeance booklet, and what they think of them.

I play a bit of historical gaming, and I'm starting to build up some 40k stuff. I grabbed DV to add some troops to a small Chaos force I have, but I'm looking for reports of anyone who has tried the introductory missions. I have a few friends whose arms I can twist into trying a game, if it doesn't look like a day's work. Most of them would have played some, or a lot of, roleplaying in their teens, and the rest of them are smart folk, but I was wondering if any of the two player missions are actually fun beyond learning the rules.

I have a fair bit of scenery to make the table more interesting as well.

I know Miniwargaming did a series of battlereports playing them. And that certain ones heavily favor one side over the other.

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....

Thanks Ralis, I'll check those battlereports.

They are good for learning rules in confined scenarios, but they're rather poorly balanced.

Particularly, the set itself is both biased towards the loyalists in points costs of units (slightly) and in what can deal with what (heavily)

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Ok, perhaps I didn't explain myself properly in the first post. I'm wondering if people here have run these missions for completely new players, and if so, did the new players enjoy them?
I accept that these missions, and the forces in the set aren't "proper" 40k, or particularly balanced, but has anyone had any success in using them to lure new folk in?
