For this game I am an allied detachment for my friends Eldar Army. We will be playing the new Tau and we don't know what to expect. It's a 1850 list and I am using 750 of those points. This is my list so far:

HQ-Cotaez
3 plasma canon servitors
Aegis Defense line
2 Warrior Acolytes

5 Warrior Acolytes with Bolt Guns and 1 Psyker
1 Razorback with heavy bolter and psybolt ammo
1 Dreadknight with Heavy incinerator and personal teleporter
1 Vindicare Assasin

This leaves me at 683 with points left over. My question is this: what should I add and what should I get rid of?
Thanks in advance.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.

From what I know he is taking a Farseer, a squadron of war-walkers, swooping hawks, some kind of troop (not the guardians) and a artillery vehicle (not sure of the name but it's pretty much the wave serpent).

The Twilight Zone

If your going to have a gunline henchman unit(the plasma cannon servitors) you might want some jokero to inprove their shooting power, and add some heavy weapon goodness into the mix. Fill the rest of the squad out with bolter acolytes, take some from the razorback if you need.

Eldar runes of warding will hurt you, unless your friend is not taking any(going against tau I doubt they would, unless they bring eldrad). I would drop the lone psyker regardless, the single blast is meh.

Looks good otherwise

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Few things to think about

1) Henchmen and Razorbacks.

Any Henchmen unit in a razorback is not going to be durable. you have no firepoints so you cannot use shooting weapons effectively, you can not assault out of the Razorback as well.

Basically you are usually best off with the 3 man, 12 point, no upgrade henchmen unit in a Razorback. You are taking the unit so you can get access to the vehicle, not for the unit inside. You want the unit as small as possible so it is easier to hide on an objective.

2) Henchmen on foot

Any henchmen unit on foot, you want to be as large as you can get it. Even with the Aegis line, they are not very durable. Take a few more bolter bodies with your Servitor unit to protect the powerful heavy weapons there.

3) The Heavy Psycannon is usually not as good on a Knight.

The Incinerator Ignores cover, Never Scatters, and has powerful overwatch. It is generally better than the psycannon, especially at close range.

4) You could trade out the razorback squad for a larger unit of henchmen in a chimera. Plasma or melta, and a bunch of bolters is usually good. It would be a way to fill some more points.

More henchmen unit ideas is he articles in my signature.

I like it. I usually run some Crusaders in my "sit back on the gun in the Aegis" because I already invested a ton points into space monkeys and such.

I highly suggesting using the Icarus Lascannon with Coteaz. You can twin link it with Prescience and then you're "I have been expecting you," with three lascannons and three plasma cannons.

It's gross.

As for Psykers, all or nothing man, all or nothing. Either fat squad them and hope they don't turn the inside of your chimera into something like the inside of a microwave with a bowl of spaghettios left on for 5 minutes with no lid, or leave 'em off the battle field. Plus, the IG ones are much better.

Drop 'em, fiddle up some more bodies in that Chimera and roll hard, my friend.

I am slowly kitbashing up an Inq allies unit for my Sisters. All I need is a Chimera and I'm READY TO ROLL OUT! (except I'm bringing a Storm Raven vs the Dreadknight)

Thank you very much! I only have a couple models that could pass as being a Pskyer so that's why only three. I'll add a couple Crusaders and add more guys to the chimera.
